About Us

The Precast Office of Area Erectors has been in existence since the late 80’s. This office specializes in installation of precast concrete panels for many different applications. Uses for this product are as limitless as the imagination; however, Area Erectors focuses its efforts on structural and architectural applications such as parking decks, warehouses, hotels, office buildings, and structures with similar attributes.

Area Erectors, Inc. is in the business of providing steel and pre-cast concrete erection services to fabricators and general contractors.  In addition to our work in structural steel we have gained significant experience in the pre-engineered building portion of the business.Our mission is to provide the highest quality, on-time service in order to develop and maintain profitable and long-term business relationships.  We accomplish this by providing an environment of safety, integrity and cooperation:  allowing our employees to continue to develop their technical superiority as a part of our highly skilled, loyal, and dedicated workforce. We believe our success in business is largely attributed to our ability to attract and keep good people.  We have a dependable core group of office and field personnel that have consistently reflected the policies of this company and are always looking for ways to improve.  Area also offers 10-Hour and 30-Hour OSHA training along with First Aid and CPR/AED training throughout the calendar year to ensure our safety culture.  Area has reinforced this culture of safety with its proactive participation in the IMPACT program implemented through the Ironworkers International Union.  With our broad and diverse knowledge of the erection business, as reflected by the continuous recognition by the American Institute of Steel Construction as a Certified Advanced Steel Erector, we look forward to bringing our solutions to the future challenges of the industry.

Where We Work

Since this office is the only one to specifically concentrate on precast erection, its territory is limited only by the adaptability of its employees. The typical range of jobs is from as far south as Springfield, IL to an approximate northern boundary of Madison, WI where it works with the Milwaukee/Wisconsin office.  The eastern limit is about the Indiana border and Area goes as far west as just inside the state line of Iowa. Area has made some exceptions to this for various reasons, but this range is pretty much the limit to its employees' traveling ability.

Our Customers

In order to limit the amount of confusion, save on sales tax and maintain good relationships, the precast division works almost exclusively for precast fabricators directly. While certain conditions or situations of a job may require a different approach, Area has found working directly for fabricators, as a subcontractor of a subcontractor, to be the most accommodating and efficient way of contracting jobs.

Precast Division History

The precast division of Area Erectors has been in existence since 1990 as an expansion off of the existing steel division in Rockford.  The division typically runs 10 crews out of the office located in Rochelle, Illinois.  The Rochelle office houses approximately 25 units of the company's crane fleet (18 ton through 300 ton) along with the majority of the lifts and trucking operation.  Two estimators, two superintendents, safety personnel and supporting staff are also based out of this location.  The Precast Division of Area Erectors is widely experienced in all types of precast concrete including all types of structural and architectural precast as well as GFRC installation.  Area's wide range and quantity of company owned cranes allow for high mobility and highly competitive pricing for all precast project types.  Area prides itself on its ability to get to a job on time and finish within the projected schedule.  This division is capable of traveling all over the Midwest or anywhere in the lower forty-eight states if specifically requested.  Area's growth over the last decade is largely based on its reputation as the industry leader in regards to safety. The Precast Division, and Area Erectors as a whole, is deeply committed to enforcing the Six-Foot-Fall rule on all jobs, a standard not typically required during precast erection.  Area currently has four full time safety representatives as well as a safety director to monitor jobs in progress while also focusing on pre-planning before mobilization. These employees work together with all Area offices to ensure safety policies and procedures are not only being enforced, but that all employees are properly trained and understand the importance of safety on the jobsite. Area's safety record has allowed the EMR for the company to remain below 0.90 and continued efforts in the safety program are improving Area's safety record annually.  The following is just a small sample of projects completed by the Precast Division of Area Erectors in the past few years.
